Communications Satellite Corp.’s income increased 145% to $24 million for the quarter ended Sept. 30, compared to the year-ago quarter. The Washington-based supplier of telecommunications services credited the gain to a $10.7-million resolution of a federal income tax issue and discontinued operations in its multipurpose earth station business.
