Rhetoric Heats Up Over Judge Bork

Bork’s battle cry that he must fight the opposition to his appointment as a Supreme Court justice to defend the law and public service against a dangerous public campaign, should prepare us for the latest in the art of disinformation.
What he really means is that he must quell the American people’s growing realization that this Administration only makes policies and appointments with political intent which never improve the welfare of the people.
Bork’s continued fight will accomplish three things: defend the agenda of the New Right (the real special interest being catered to) from an awakening populace; make a martyr out of Bork to rally new right activism to propagandize a win for the GOP in 1988, and further expose Bork’s authoritarian allegiance and the loud rhetoric of panic-stricken conservatives trying to stigmatize the increasingly less passive American people as “special interests.”
