Countywide : Negotiators Reach 5th Contract Accord
- Share via
County labor negotiators reached another tentative wage agreement Friday--the fifth this week--with the union representing about 260 lawyers who work for the public defender, the county counsel and the district attorney.
That leaves only one employee group still negotiating a contract--the Orange County Employees Assn. OCEA, which represents 6,500 clerical workers and some supervisorial personnel, is the county’s largest union.
This week, the county has also settled with the International Assn. of Firefighters, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, the International Union of Operating Engineers and the Service Employees International Union.
The attorneys’ bargaining unit and all of the other unions--except the operating engineers--are scheduled to have their memberships vote on the tentative agreements next week.
