Swedish Driver Fined in Chase to Catch Thief

STOCKHOLM — A motorist helped police catch a suspected thief only to be fined $90 for running a stop sign as he tried to keep up with the suspect’s fleeing car, news reports said Friday.
“I will never help the police again,” said Lennart Frostby, 25.
Frostby told two newspapers, the Svenska Dagbladet and Aftonbladet, that he watched a man tampering with a credit card pump two weeks ago at a gas station in Strangnas, just south of Stockholm. He said gave chase to the supect until police, responding to a call from Frostby, caught the suspect.
