Alabama Officer Charged in Fellow Trooper’s Death

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — An Alabama state trooper has been charged in the fatal shooting of a female trooper who was his girlfriend, officials said Tuesday.
Trooper Joe C. Duncan, 32, was arrested Monday and charged with two counts of capital murder in the Oct. 11 slaying of Trooper Elizabeth C. Cobb, 31. Authorities said the two had quarreled over money from a life insurance policy.
