Three Capital Bank of California offices will be closed this month because the newly acquired branches are unprofitable, the Century City-based bank said. The San Diego and Carson offices, previously operated by Commonwealth Bank, and the Universal City office, previously operated by Valley State Bank, are affected in the move. Capital Bank, which will now have 10 offices in Southern California, acquired both institutions in late September.
