CHARLOTTE, Mich. — A man who killed his daughter and son-in-law because he mistakenly believed it was Father’s Day and his family had forgotten him was found not guilty by reason of insanity Monday.
Melville Henwood, 79, of Lansing, also wounded his wife and three grandchildren in the shootings on June 8, 1986, a week before Father’s Day. He was ordered to undergo treatment at a psychiatric center.
