The New York State Racing and Wagering Board have advised the stewards at Aqueduct to scratch the horses entered by trainer Peter Ferriola.
The board, which said it is investigating, refused to comment on the order, saying only that the action was taken “for just reasons.”
Gerard A. Burke, a New York Racing Association steward, said the order would be followed, effective immediately, and would last at least through Sunday’s races.
Ferriola currently is the leader among trainers at Aqueduct, having saddled 16 winners in 31 races.
In one of the most significant victories by his horses, Badwagon Harry came from 13 lengths back midway through the race to win the 1 1-16-mile Canterbury Cup at Canterbury Downs in Minnesota last August.
