New Members for AIDS Panel

WASHINGTON — President Reagan announced the appointment today of Beny J. Primm of New Rochelle, N.Y., and Kristine M. Gebbie of Portland, Ore., to his dissension-torn blue-ribbon commission on AIDS.
Moving to bring the panel back to full strength after the resignations of its two top officers, Reagan named Primm to fill the vacancy of Chairman W. Eugene Mayberry and Gebbie to succeed Vice Chairman Woodrow A. Myers Jr.
Primm, 59, has been president of the Urban Resource Institute since 1983 and since 1969 has been president and executive director of the Addiction Research and Treatment Corp. in Brooklyn.
Gebbie, 44, is associate director for health at the Oregon Department of Human Resources and an adjunct associate professor with the Department of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing at Oregon Health Science University.
The AIDS commission, established by Reagan during the summer to take a comprehensive look at the epidemic and the possible federal response, was criticized from the outset for a shortage of members with health care, AIDS research and related experience, and homosexuals.
