Owner of a Lion That Mauled Girl Is Arrested

HOUSTON — Authorities have arrested the owner of a lion that mauled a girl last month at a flea market.
Gary Durkovitz, 35, had been wanted since Oct. 11, the day after his lion grabbed Roxanne Hernandez, 8, by the head and held on until wounded by a security guard. The lion was destroyed the day of the attack. Roxanne was released from the hospital Thursday. Durkovitz was arrested Wednesday.
