Eight-Inch Snowfall Allows Tahoe Skiing
Skiers in Lake Tahoe opened their season Saturday after a storm dumped up to eight inches of snow on the area’s mountains. Boreal Ridge Ski Resort on Donner Summit was the first Tahoe ski resort to open its slopes.
In Los Angeles, strong winds followed Friday night’s rain shower. At Los Angeles International Airport, winds gusted as high as 27 m.p.h., the National Weather Service said, and scattered power outages affecting fewer than 1,000 customers were reported by the Department of Water and Power.
Meteorologists said the gusts should continue today while temperatures are expected to be in the low to mid 70s.
