Preliminary autopsy results failed to disclose the cause of death of a 24-year-old Anaheim woman whose partially clothed body was found near Irvine Regional Park, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said Monday.
Sheriff’s Lt. Richard J. Olson said toxicological tests were needed to determined what killed the woman, who was identified as Lisa Maria Guardiola. Results of those tests were not expected for at least a few weeks.
Olson said Guardiola’s body was found Saturday at 6:50 a.m. by a woman hiker near the entrance to Irvine Regional Park, at Chapman Avenue east of Santiago Canyon Road.
Olson said the case is being treated as a homicide. Investigators believe the victim’s body may have brought to the area after she was killed elsewhere. But Olson said detectives at this point have no suspect and know of no motive.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the sheriff’s homicide division at (714) 647-7000.
