Turner Broadcasting Systems’ board of directors this week sent the proposed Turner Network Television--TNT--basic cable channel back to the drawing boards. Last month, company chairman Ted Turner announced plans for an explosive March kick-off for the network, but the communications magnate apparently spoke too soon. “The board was upbeat and optimistic but wasn’t willing to make a final commitment to the channel,” a Turner Broadcasting spokesman said, adding: “The board is more conservative than Ted.”
