A 31-year-old motorist was seriously injured Friday night when her car was struck by a San Diego Police Department patrol car on La Jolla Village Drive near Interstate 5, police said.
The woman was identified by Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla as Frances Maday and was listed Saturday night in critical condition.
Police spokesman Bill Robinson said Maday’s vehicle was struck by a patrol car driven by Officer Mike Scott eastbound on La Jolla Village Drive as he was responding to another call.
Scott was treated for minor injuries.
There were no further details and the investigation into the crash was continuing Saturday, Robinson said.
