Woman, 82, Hit, Killed by Truck

An 82-year-old Orange woman was killed Wednesday when she was struck by a garbage truck as she was walking outside her mobile home, police said.
The victim, whom police identified as Verna Thomas, was walking in the Orange Village Mobile Home Park in the 1500 block of East Trenton Street about 8:15 a.m. when the garbage truck hit her as it maneuvered to park, Orange police said. Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene.
Details of the accident were incomplete. Police said late Wednesday that they could not provide the name of the truck driver.
