William G. Willett has been elected presiding judge of the South Bay Municipal Court for 1988.
Willett, who held the post in 1982, was elected by fellow Municipal Court judges. He replaces Judge Josh M. Fredricks.
Willett, 43, has been a municipal judge since 1980. He will oversee the opening of a satellite court this spring at the Redondo Beach Pier, and said he is considering opening a night court at the Torrance courthouse to relieve overcrowding.
