Reagan to Have Cancer Check Today

WASHINGTON — President Reagan is “in great shape” despite a bout of stomach illness earlier this week, his spokesman said Thursday.
Reagan, who suffered from an upset stomach Tuesday night and early Wednesday, was being served full-sized meals on Thursday, White House spokesman Marlin Fitzwater said.
The President is to undergo a routine, follow-up examination today at Bethesda Naval Medical Center to check for any recurrence of his 1985 colon cancer, but Fitzwater said that has nothing to do with his stomach trouble.
“The President is in great shape,” he said. “He’s back on a normal schedule today--normal food.”
