Mrs. Carter Christens ‘Largest’ Cruise Ship

MIAMI — Former first lady Rosalynn Carter christened the world’s largest cruise ship today, sending a mammoth bottle of Champagne crashing against the side of the vessel.
The Sovereign of the Seas, a $186-million vessel built for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, sets sail for St. Thomas and San Juan, Puerto Rico, Saturday with the Jimmy Carter family aboard.
