College Basketball Roundup : Point Loma Tops Christ College

Jon Ekeroth scored 23 points and guard Clayton Williams 17 to lead Point Loma Nazarene College to a 95-73 victory over Christ College Irvine Tuesday in a Golden State Athletic Conference men’s basketball game at Irvine.

Guard Dan Klatt scored 25 and forward Mike Thompson 17 for Christ College Irvine (7-10, 0-3). Point Loma is 6-10 and 1-2.

In Golden State Athletic Conference women’s play:

Point Loma Nazarene College 69, Christ College Irvine 44--Ann Duffy and Laura Duffy scored 12 points each for Point Loma (12, 2-0). Shelly Stokes added 10 for Point Loma.

In a women’s nonconference game:

Biola 78, Southern California College 49--Lyn Averill scored 21 points and Donna Pollemna 19 for host Biola (6-8). Mary Sullivan scored 13 and Paula Hale 10 for Southern California College (9-6), which trailed, 21-20, at halftime.
