Mid Pacific Airlines has filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and has stopped its passenger flights. The airline, which entered the Hawaii inter-island market in 1981, said the move was necessary because of the drop in the number of passengers and the airline’s eroding market share.
