Local News in Brief : House Fire Proves Fatal

Fire raged through a City Terrace home early Friday, killing one person trapped inside and destroying the two-story house.
Flames had already enveloped the Ellison Street home when firefighters arrived shortly after 4:45 a.m. The roof had also caved in, preventing firefighters from entering the burning building. About 20 firefighters controlled the blaze by 5:10 a.m.
The unidentified victim was found in the charred rubble. The cause of the fire was being probed by arson and homicide investigators, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
