Felix Belczyk, at 26 the elder statesman of Canada’s Alpine ski team, won the super-giant slalom in a World Cup race at Leukerbad, Switzerland.
Belczyk was timed in 1 minute 51.20 seconds. Pirmin Zurbriggen of Switzerland was second in 1:51.69 and gained 20 points on Italy’s World Cup leader Alberto Tomba, who had won 7 of 11 starts but missed a gate in fog Monday. Zurbriggen has 186 World Cup points to 206 for Tomba.
