Following what Los Angeles literary agent Norman Brokaw, the co-chairman of the William Morris Agency, described as a “very heated” auction in New York, a book by former Secretary of Defense Caspar W. Weinberger has been sold for a “very sizable six-figure sum” to Warner Books. The book will be written by Weinberger himself, with no co-author, and joins a long list of memoirs by former Reagan Administration officials, including books by former Secretary of State Alexander M. Haig Jr., former White House Chief of Staff Donald T. Regan, and former White House spokesman Larry Speakes. “We are very excited to be publishing Secretary Weinberger,” said Lawrence Kirschbaum, the president of Warner Books.
