Pooh Richardson is a talented basketball player, but his response to a reporter questioning his behind-the-back passes (“If they want me to go out and play, they have to put up with the things I do.”) made me angry at Walt Hazzard. After that second pass, Pooh should have been benched for the game.
In recent years, UCLA teams have lacked discipline. As a result, they’re missing all the hallmarks of the Wooden-coached teams: Sound fundamentals, consistency, teamwork and a killer instinct.
