Hershey Foods’ income rose 11.6% to $148.2 million in 1987. The Hershey, Pa., company said revenue was up 12% to $2.43 billion. The company credited improved results to growth of established brands; the late 1986 acquisition of the Luden’s confectionery operations; substantial increases in sales and operating income at Hershey Canada Inc., primarily as a result of the acquisition of Nabisco Brands Ltd.’s Canadian confectionery operations, and a healthy sales increase at Hershey Pasta Group.
