Deputy Dist. Atty. Lisa Hart was waiting Friday to hear from rock singer Sly Stone, who forfeited $7,500 bail by failing to appear in Santa Monica Municipal Court the day before for his preliminary hearing on charges of possessing rock cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
Municipal Judge Laurence Rubin issued a bench warrant and set new bail at $15,000.
Hart said she was told that the 43-year-old Stone--whose real name is Sylvester Stewart--was in New York.
He also faces trial in Santa Monica on another drug charge.
