A bayside site 35 miles southeast of San Francisco is the latest proposal for a baseball stadium to replace gusty Candlestick Park.
A San Mateo County task force seeking to lure the San Francisco Giants has unveiled the newest proposal. Preliminary estimates are about $100 million for stadium development and land costs.
The site, selected after several weeks of studies, is now the location of several auto wrecking yards. It is less than a mile south of the Dumbarton Bridge, which links the San Francisco Peninsula to Fremont and the east side of San Francisco Bay.
