USC Beats Riverside for 13th Straight Win

USC won its 13th consecutive game Saturday by beating UC Riverside, 20-12. USC’s 13-0 start is its best since 1943, when former coach Rod Dedeaux led his first team to a 14-0 record.
Bret Barberie’s 3 home runs, a double, a single and 7 runs batted in led an 18-hit attack. Jim Campanis was 4 for 5 with a two-run homer and two doubles.
The Trojans blew a six-run lead in the third inning when Riverside scored seven runs on back-to-back home runs by Ty Murphy and Logan Ostrander.
