Waldheim’s Nazi Past

In your editorial “The Joy of Being Kurt Waldheim” (Feb. 10) you state that “his (Waldheim’s) election . . . has left Austria diplomatically isolated from the greater part of the Western world.”
This is completely wrong. Austria maintains friendly relations with all countries of the Western world and cooperates closely with them, both bilaterally and multilaterally. After all, only a small part of international relations is conducted at visits of heads of state.
