Coach Jimmy Johnson, who led the University of Miami Hurricanes to the national football championship last season but whose name has consistently surfaced in connection with nearly all major vacancies in major college coaching and some National Football League openings, has agreed to a two-year contract extension, taking him through the 1992 season.
