A. John Gambs, 42, has been named executive vice president-finance and chief financial officer of Charles Schwab Corp., San Francisco, and its brokerage subsidiary, Charles Schwab & Co. Lawrence Stupski, president and chief operating officer, had served as acting CFO. Gambs previously was deputy treasurer at Merrill Lynch & Co. in New York.
