Here’s one company that is building apartments in the county: Summerhill Development Co., which said recently it plans to build a 101-unit complex in downtown Garden Grove as the first project developed under the city’s New Community Specific Plan adopted in 1985.
The plan funnels high-density development into the area around City Hall. Summerhill said it bought and consolidated nine single-family lots to put together enough land for the apartment complex.
The apartments, at the northwest corner of 9th and College streets, will feature predominantly two-bedroom units when they are completed early next year.
