Anaheim Computer Graphics Trade Show Draws 29,000 on Monday

The National Computer Graphics Assn. conference and trade show drew 29,000 visitors Monday to the Anaheim Convention Center.
Show organizers expect a record 40,000 people to have attended by the time it finishes a five-day run on Thursday.
Show organizers said Monday’s attendance exceeded their expectations.
The show features the latest in computer-generated graphics for business, science and the arts.
CalComp, a high-technology company based in Anaheim, is one of about 260 companies displaying its wares at the trade show.
CalComp’s exhibit is one of the flashiest at the show, featuring a giant wire and fiberglass bust of a man’s head.
The sculpture, which is 16 feet tall and weighs 2,500 pounds, was designed by Exhibit Place, a Garden Grove company that designs exhibits for trade shows and other events.
The exhibit carries CalComp’s company slogan: “We Draw on Your Imagination.”
One of the main applications for computer graphics is high-performance computers used by engineers and designers. A CalComp employee demonstrated a computer on which he can design products, such as automobiles, and adjust their size, shape, color and other features.
The exhibition is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday. A one-day admission to the exhibits is $30.
