Philippine troops raided the seaside vacation house of opposition Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile but failed to find Col. Gregorio (Gringo) Honasan, leader of an August coup attempt who fled his prison ship Saturday. The raid on the house in Batangas province, southwest of Manila, was part of a nationwide search for Honasan, who served as chief of security at the Defense Ministry when Enrile was defense chief. Enrile told reporters he has not heard from Honasan since his escape. “I’m beginning to sense that they (the government) treat me as an enemy,” said Enrile, who was fired by President Corazon Aquino in November, 1986.
