McDonald Corp.’s income rose 18% to $125.8 million in its first quarter, compared to $106.9 million in the year-ago period, the Oak Brook, Ill., fast-food concern reported. The company, which opened its 10,000th restaurant this month, attributed its performance to strong sales boosted by new products and the success of its Big Mac and Cheddar Melt promotions.
