A Pacific Beach couple were arrested Thursday after the rape of a 33-year-old transient they had taken into their home earlier this week, police said.
The woman was picked up near the beach and offered a place to stay, San Diego police spokesman Bill Robinson said.
He said the woman was forced to have sex with the couple before she escaped out a window Thursday morning. She alerted a passer-by, who called police.
James Colbert, 34, and his wife, Marietta, 37, were arrested in their home in the 1800 block of Thomas Avenue on suspicion of rape and several other sex-related offenses, Robinson said.
