Westlake Coach Takes Soccer to Camp With Summer Sessions
- Share via
Westlake soccer Coach Mike Williams is coordinating two soccer camps this summer that will feature UCLA Coach Sigi Schmid.
Schmid, who has a career record of 132-25-20 with the Bruin soccer team, will direct instructional sessions at the camps, which are open to players aged 8 to 18.
Williams, who led the Warriors to the Southern Section 4-A Division semifinals in 1987, doubles as sports director for the Conejo Recreation and Park District, sponsor of the camps. “We have a lot of quality soccer players out here,” Williams said. “The Marmonte League is one of the strongest ones around in soccer and yet we don’t have any quality camps.”
The first camp will run July 11-15 at the Thousand Oaks Community Center. The second camp will run July 18-22 at Sequoia Intermediate School in Newbury Park.
