BIELEFELD, West Germany — A car belonging to a British soldier was found booby-trapped Tuesday, two days after the outlawed Irish Republican Army killed three off-duty British military personnel in Holland, British officials said.
The bomb was attached to a private car in a parking lot at the Bielefeld army barracks, headquarters of the 1st British Corps, 50 miles southwest of Hanover. British army experts safely disarmed it.
The booby trap was found during a routine security check ordered in all British installations abroad after Sunday’s two attacks in the Netherlands.
