At 97, Swede Can Still Throw Punch

STOCKHOLM — A crusty 97-year old former fur trapper was the hero of his small Swedish hometown this week after knocking down a burglar with a right jab and a left hook.
“I saw the villain climbing in through my bathroom window and punched his throat with a quick left-right combination,” Freddy Nilsson, of the southern town of Moheda, told the national daily Aftonbladet.
The burglar clutched his throat, fell into a flower bed, then fled, said Nilsson, who in his youth worked as a fur trapper in Alaska.
“Elderly people must learn to defend themselves. I’m not letting anybody rob me,” he said.
