Hundreds of millions of people might die as a direct result of a nuclear war, but the indirect results, including environmental effects, could kill billions, according to a United Nations report. The 70-page report was drafted by an international panel of 11 experts, headed by Prof. Henry Nix of the Australian National University, Canberra.
