ROME — Most Italian newspapers failed to appear Wednesday because of a four-day national strike by journalists seeking better pay and working conditions. The strike will keep morning newspapers off the stands until Sunday. Radio and television news bulletins will be blacked out today. Italian news agencies stopped work on Tuesday morning and will not resume until Saturday.
