Star Turning

There are sooooooo many pop celebs converging on London for the June 11 Freedomfest concert at Wembley Stadium that promoters have given up trying to decide who should headline. Organizers have diplomatically put together 10 “all-star” sets, each with its own superstar ensemble.
One all-star set, for example, is headed by Phil Collins, who’ll be joined by the Bee Gees, Bryan Adams, Paul Young and Midge Ure. Other superstar sets will be anchored by George Michael, Dire Straits, Whitney Houston, Simple Minds and the Eurythmics.
A bid to reunite the Rolling Stones at the fest flopped when feuding leaders Mick Jagger and Keith Richards met but couldn’t agree on plans for a tour or a joint appearance at the do. Instead, both Stones may appear--but during separate superstar sets: Richards has committed to play the fest, the Eurythmics have offered a spot to Jagger--while Rolling Stone bassist Bill Wyman will be in yet another star grouping.
