L.A. History

It was disappointing to read Howard Rosenberg’s lukewarm review of the “Los Angeles History Project” that has been airing in four segments on KCET (“A Historic View of Los Angeles in KCET Series,” May 16).
I am sorry he thought it was dull; I found it fascinating.
But then, I am not a TV critic; I am a TV viewer and a historian, and I found it a straightforward attempt to tell history as it really happened, not as later residents have romanticized it.
The producers, while telling their stories, dispelled some of the strongest myths on which Angelenos have been nurtured since birth or settlement here, and they did it with sensitivity, style and humor.
