‘The Applause Is Deserved’

We hear a lot about fiscal responsibility in the new Medicare bill with its exorbitant charges to seniors. Where is the fiscal responsibility when billions of borrowed funds are wasted to enrich defense contractors?
Most seniors are willing to pay their fair share, but under this bill those seniors who are fortunate enough to pay income tax must foot the bill for those at the poverty level or who have tax accountants who keep them from paying income tax.
Why not require the general population to care for those in poverty, instead of only the seniors? It is truly an unfair tax on senior citizens, and only a minute number will ever use the benefits.
