Shuttle Flight Delayed Again

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — NASA said today that it is delaying the launch of the first post-Challenger space shuttle flight until Sept. 4 because preparation of the shuttle Discovery is taking longer than expected.
Earlier launch dates had been set for February, June and August, but they each fell by the wayside as technical problems held up the nation’s recovery from the loss of Challenger and its seven crew members in an explosion on Jan. 28, 1986.
