An Anaheim man and his son who were overdue from a six-day hike in the Angeles National Forest were found Friday, sheriff’s deputies said.
Tom Marshall, 36, and his son Doug, 15, were unharmed, but told deputies that a wrong turn taken during their trip, which began June 24, had delayed their return, Deputy Detta Roberts said.
Marshall’s wife, Terri, had reported the pair overdue Thursday.
About 25 sheriff’s deputies, along with Altadena, Antelope Valley and Montrose search and rescue teams, began searching Thursday for the hikers near Buck Horn Campground, about 33 miles north of La Canada, before finding them in the Little Rock Creek Canyon area at 9:35 a.m.
The father and son took the rescue team’s helicopter back to their car.
