Mid-Valley Captures AAU National Title

ARC Mid-Valley captured the championship of the Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympics 12-and-under national basketball tournament Saturday with a 73-61 win over the Memphis Rebels in Seattle.
Guard Cameron Murray scored 27 points, including two three-point baskets, to lead Mid-Valley, which won all seven of its tournament games. Murray averaged 18.3 points a game and was named tournament MVP.
Mid-Valley forwards Lorenzo Lieuluai and Bernard Smith also were named to the all-tournament team. Against Memphis, Lieuluai scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds, and Smith had 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
