Vandals struck a Woodland Hills restaurant over the weekend, spray-painting the walls and carpet, smashing glass table-tops and slashing booth seats, Los Angeles police said Sunday.
Jonny’s Steak & Sea Food Restaurant in the 22800 block of Ventura Boulevard was vandalized by one or more intruders between 8 p.m. Friday and 10:25 a.m. Saturday, when the restaurant’s owner told police he discovered the damage, Sgt. Woody Baca said.
The restaurant had not been operating and was scheduled to open today, Baca said.
Owner Jon Dungan would not comment on the incident.
“You can’t help but feel that it’s against them,” neighboring businessman Mike Deterville, of Discount Sales, said of the vandalism.
Deterville and other neighboring merchants said Dungan had planned to reopen the restaurant this week after it was closed because of a fire earlier this year.
