County Supervisor Thomas F. Riley was elected chairman of the Orange County Transportation Commission for a one-year term Monday, replacing Brea Councilwoman Clarice A. Blamer.
“During this next year, as we take our 20-year Master Plan to the public,” Blamer told the commissioners when nominating Riley to succeed her, “this commission needs the leadership of someone with Tom Riley’s experience, integrity and character.”
The commission’s master plan will detail the full scope of transportation projects to be built in the county through the year 2010, what they will cost and how the county will pay for them.
Riley joined the eight-member Transportation Commission in 1979 and previously served as its chairman from July 1981 through June 1984.
Caltrans’ county district director is a non-voting, ex-officio member.
