Westwood : Village Preservation Approved
The Los Angeles Planning Commission last week approved plans to limit development and preserve the architectural character of Westwood Village.
The Westwood Village Specific Plan, one of two blueprints for the area’s future, would also limit heights of new buildings and would place a cap on hotel development in the village. The other blueprint, called the Westwood Community Plan, was approved by the City Council last January.
The Westwood Village Specific Plan is expected to come before the City Council for a final vote in the next few weeks, according to Ginny Kruger, a planning deputy for Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky, who represents Westwood.
